J’amemme Winter’22/23

J’amemme’s newest winter collection is all about volumes. Signature origami dresses are not the only centerpiece to play with the perception of forms and shapes. The brand’s look for the cold season includes a supersized blazer paired with a slim pant.

Julie Yarmoliuk, the designer of the brand, describes the collection as "ambitious, dramatic, and quite sexual". She demonstrates this by scissorsing an undergarment from midi to mini length, amidst the sound of flashing cameras. She hopes that their romantic styles will bridge the gap between dreams and reality.

The collection is a reflection of the designer's personal style, in which she often uses color to make a statement. She is also unafraid to experiment with shape, fabric, and texture. This is evident in the asymmetrical hems, the bold colors, and the luxurious materials she has chosen for her designs. These elements are combined to create a look that is both timeless and current.

Crafted from pure alpaca wool by local artisans, each piece is imbued with their art and traditions. Spikelet-form patterns add chunky volume to cardigans and sweaters, while pleated knitted dresses and suits offer an easy-looking yet highly complex construction.

Unexpected details in the collection combine utilitarian elements, such as tech-fabric cargo pants, with seductive corsets. To complete the look, add a flower clutch, opera gloves, and an exaggerated floral choker - and voilà!
